Acronym : VET-P-P00918 This course will build on the information provided in the Musculoskeletal system and athletic adaptation module. The pathology of the equine musculoskeletal system will be studied with particular emphasis on the future applications of recent research in disease modification and prevention with emphasis given to the critical assessment of recent research and its relevance to disease management. Practical sessions will allow exposure to the techniques used in the diagnosis and treatment of equine orthopaedic disease to provide an understanding of the possibilities and limitations of current practice. Discussion sessions will also explore the application of current and future research into these clinical problems with the aim of enhancing the welfare of the equine athlete.
