Traditional Song in Scotland (P00897)? Credit Points : 40 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : LLC-P-P00897 The autumn term will concentrate on Scots song, the spring term on Gaelic song. The first part of the first term will introduce a broad approach to song scholarship including cross-cultural perspectives, and will cover such topics as the nature and function of song, orality and literacy, and song analysis. Thereafter the first term will be devoted to the study of selected song resources including published collections, manuscripts, recordings, performers and computer databases. Entry Requirements?
