Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
It is anticipated that students who successfully complete the course will be able to:
-Discuss the application of database systems in Informatics -Describe how database systems work -Analyse data and describe using common description methods such as ER diagrams and XML -Convert ER schema into relational tables, populate a relational database and run queries on the data -Design and implment appropriate interfaces (middleware) to database systems -Disucss the limitations of database and data handling technologies -Explain the relationship between database limitations and the underlying technology -Contrast relational systems with semi-structured approaches -Describe examples of current research in the field Assessment Information
