The course will consider the scientific knowledge required to understand the links between environment and development in the European and international contexts. The international context will be framed within the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) for Environment and Development.

- Critical analysis and synthesis of information to support research themes.
- Generating new knowledge to through experimentation or interpretation of previous studies.
- Planning, conduction and reporting on investigations
- Collecting recording and analysing data
- Reviewing existing knowledge based on reports from previous studies
- Production of scientific reports including appropriate referencing.
