Acronym : GEO-P-FEMFE This course examines the nature of environmental change, the climate system, theories of climate change and the greenhouse effect. It focuses on the role and influence of forests on the climate system. Topics will include: the flows of energy, carbon, nitrogen and water; deforestation rates and processes; forests and the carbon cycle; models to predict how forests will behave in the future; developing a long term view of the role of forests in UK/Europe/World.
