Introduction: Telecommunications networks, Networks configurations, Examples of networks.

General network design problems: Formulations (Modelling): Topology problems, Local access, Routing problems, Capacity assignment problems, Survivability problems.

Technology related problems: Wavelength assignment problems, Routing in IP networks, Ring networks, Frequency assignment problems.

Network design problems: Optimization: Local access, Capacity assignment problems, Survivabilty problems.
