Introduction to Operational Research; problems and problem definition; algebraic modeling languages; systems dynamics and simulation; optimization and heuristics; assessment, validation and implementation. Student presentation of case studies.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

A broad overview of the Operational Research Approach. Ability to quickly assess the main issues in a situation and to choose an appropriate approach to tackling them.

20% small group projects, 80% individual projects.
