Preparing a Dissertation Proposal (P00605)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : DIV-P-P00605 The course is designed to familiarise Taught Masters' students with the skills necessary to prepare a successful dissertation proposal in the discipline in which they are studying. By extension, the skills acquired will also prepare students for the writing of the dissertation itself. Programme Managers of taught masters programmes in Divinity schedule and conduct class sessions for the students in their respective programmes. Entry Requirements? Co-requisites : Basic Research Methods in Divinity ? Special Arrangements for Entry : Students in a given taught masters programme are taught as a group under the leadership of the Programme Manager. Students successfully completing the course will be:
1. Familiar with appropriate styles of footnoting conventions for the subject 2. Able to complete effectively an academic bibliography 3. Conversant with the concepts of research hypotheses 4. Able to identify a suitable research topic on which to write a dissertation 5. Able to complete a satisfactory dissertation proposal. Assessment Information
The course will be assessed by a Dissertation Proposal of not less than 3000 words.
