To provide an advanced understanding of current psycholinguistic research in discourse comprehension. We study the way in which people understand text and discourse, addressing questions such as discourse focus, anaphora and reference. Methodological and theoretical issues are considered alongside each other. The five topics covered are listed below:

1. Introduction to discourse comprehension

2. The resolution of anaphora

3. Verbal anaphora

4. Inferences in discourse and thematic roles

5. The processing of causality information
