Exploiting the Computational Grid (P00377)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : PHY-P-HPCGrid The Grid is emerging as a major new technology for science and business. This module reviews and contrasts current grid technologies and aims to give scientists a practical introduction to current grid software. The Globus toolkit is considered, with security, job submission, data management and information services reviewed. Web and grid services are introduced and practical hands on experience is provided for a range of topics. Entry Requirements? Pre-requisites : Only postgraduates or final year MPhys students with suitable computational background, subject to space restrictions and agreement with relevant Programme Coordinator.
