This course develops a conceptual understanding of key terms in the study of health including health promotion, quality of life and the role of new technologies. Further, it promotes an understanding of the role of research in the study of health and enables students to acquire the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to plan implement and evaluate health policies.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

To develop students conceptual understanding of key terms in the study o health including health promotion, social research and the role of new technologies.
To develop students conceptual understanding of the interaction between social, cultural and structural factors and health.
To promote critical understandigs of health and health promotion.
To enable students to acquire the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to plan, implement and evaluate health policies.
To promote an understandingof the role of social research in the study of health.
To introduce aspects of the impact of health technology on health and healthcare.
