Italian 1 (IT0001)? Credit Points : 40 ? SCQF Level : 8 ? Acronym : LLC-1-IT0001 Tuition in written and spoken Italian. Study of contemporary Italy; modern history, culture and literature. Language classes are streamed according to competence in Italian (from beginners to post-'A' level). Considerable private study is required in order to profit from this intensive course. The numbers admitted to this course are limited. Entry Requirements? This course is not accepting further student enrolments. ? Pre-requisites : A pass in at least one classical or modern foreign language at SCE Higher or Advanced GCE or equivalent evidence of linguistic proficiency. ? Special Arrangements for Entry : A quota of 75 students, with preference given in the following order: (1) Students admitted to a degree programme including Italian (Honours or BA Humanities and Social Science) and Visiting Students holding a written offer of a place (2) Students taking MA (General) or BA (Humanities and Social Science) and intending to take a double in Italian; students intending to take Italian 1 and 2 as a prescribed sequence of courses for an Honours degree in another subject; (3) students making a free choice of course for an Honours degree in a humanities subject with priority given to first year students. Note: If the total number of enrolments exceeds 75, a ballot will be taken of category 3 students after the first meeting of the class.
