First semester. Introduction to written and spoken Spanish for students with little or no knowledge of the language. The numbers admitted to the course are limited therefore Directors of Studies should contact the Division of European Languages and Cultures Teaching Organisation office to confirm availability before registering students for this course.

? Pre-requisites : No previous knowledge is required.

? Prohibited combinations : No students on programmes owned by DELC will be admitted.

? Special Arrangements for Entry : Priority to enroll will be given as follows:
1. Students from College of Science and Engineering, College of MEdecine and Veterinary Medecine, and visiting students.
2. students from College of Humanities and Social Sciences, but from outwith chool of LLC (Literatures, Languages and Cultures).
3. Students from School of LLC, but outwith DELC.

No students on programmes owned by DELC will be admitted to these courses.

Language exercises plus class test. Students achieving a mark of 60% or above in their coursework may be exempted from the degree exam.
