Modernism and 'Totalitarianism' in the Soviet Union and Germany (GE0097)

This course explores the involvement of modernist and avangardist artists in the totalitarian movements of the early Twentieth Century, asking questions about the nature of modernism and the status of the writer within the ideologies of Stalinism and National Socialism.
