The Presence of the Past: German Literature after 1945 (GE0031)

This option will investigate the ways in which authors and film makers in post-war German literature dealt with the Nazi past and its effects on the present.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

The texts will be studied from the point of view of their historical as well as their literary significance and an attempt will be made to understand the works in the context of the period in which they were written.
