Technology Teaching 1 (ED0939)

The course takes as its starting point an investigation into the goals of the 5 - 14 technology programme in schools and will analyse how technological capability can be developed in pupils. There is an exploration of a range of technological activities and their learning outcomes, and practical exercises involved in their design.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course the student will be able to:

i. Describe the attainment targets prescribed for the 5-14 technology programme.

ii. Analyse technological experiences and explain their learning outcomes.

iii. Design interesting and challenging technological activities.
iv. Successfully undertake placement 1

Assessment Information

60% continuous, 40% design project
