Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
1. a general understanding of how philosophical and phenomenological approaches have helped to create Religious Studies as a discipline.
2. a particular knowledge of each key thinker reviewed in the syllabus. 3. a particular knowledge of the historical background out of which each of the selected key thinkers emerged 4. a particular knowledge as to why phenomenologists of religion regarded the study of religion as a category in its own right, sui generis. 10% on seminar presentations and participation, 30% on an essay, 60% on degree examination.
