Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Successful completion of this course will be demonstrated by the ability to:
1. locate NT passages in their literary and historical context, and to make comparisons with relevant contemporary texts.
2. interact with modern scholarly debate, primarily through the use of commentaries, reference works, journals and monographs discussing the relevant passages.
3. argue a coherent case by handling the textual and historical evidence that attends the biblical text.
4. engage in a close reading of texts, demonstrated through written work and oral presentation.

Assessment Information

One essay. Essay 40%; Degree exam 60%.
