History of the Study of Classical Antiquity (CL0107)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 10 ? Acronym : HCL-3-HSCA This course deals with the way previous ancient historians and classical archaeologists have approached the study of the ancient world: a selection of people, themes and periods will be studied. The course also examines our own place within this tradition and modern approaches to some major controversies of the past. Entry Requirements? Knowledge of some of the major developments in the study
of the Classical world (both Ancient History and Classical Archaeology). Understanding of the methodologies used in the past and their place within contemporary thinking at the time. Greater critical awareness of current attitudes and approaches to the classical world. Assessment Information
One essay of 2500-3000 words (30%);
