Molecules and Cells 1 (BI0005)

Structure, organisation, and experimental investigation of eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. Structure and replication of nucleic acids. Structure and function of proteins, methods of purification and investigation, plus some particular examples. Cytoskeleton and cell motility. Biological membranes. Cell growth and differentiation.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : Normally, prior attendance at Introduction to the Chemistry of Biology 1 or Biological Chemistry (Foundations) 1 and Quantification in the Life Sciences 1; concurrent or previous attendance at Biological Chemistry 1.
