To examine a variety of methods of investigating reading skills. To contrast different theoretical explanations of how and why developmental dyslexia arises. - Describe at least one theory of the acquisition of reading skills.
- Understand which dyslexic symptoms are best explained by each of the models of dyslexia described in the course. - Understand the broad concepts (but not the technical details) of the connectionist approach to describing and explaining dyslexia. - Understand the contributions made by the different methodological approaches used to investigate dyslexia.
