Acronym : EDU-1-CEMA This course examines the nature of informal learning and the construction of the 'learner' in a range of community education settings. The course covers interpersonal communications, basic processes of teaching and learning in small groups, and investigating issues in communities as a means of developing curriculum. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
- Account for and demonstrate the basic tenets of effective communication
- Explain basic approaches to working with people in groups - Illustrate a range of methods for investigating needs and issues in communities - State how investigations provide the basis for an informal educational curriculum. Assessment Information
In small groups participants will give a 15 minute presentation showing how curriculum can be built from investigating issues in communities (50%of total mark). Each participant will also submit a 1000 word document outlining their learning from this course (50%).
