Acronym : EDU-4-PrPlacSG This placement, twelve weeks at a stage of the students' choice (lower/upper) is designed to build on, use and extend experiences, learning outcomes and understandings, developed on previous placements. It is intended to be coherent and progressively demanding, maintaining a pattern of growth in all areas. Entry Requirements? This course is not available to visting students. ? Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of placement students will be able to:
- take responsibility for planning, implementing, assessing and evaluating a full teaching programme for the whole class for an extended period, normally 20 days over a period of 25 working days. (1.13, 1.1.4, 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.3.1, 2.3.2, 2.4.3, 3.2); - plan and undertake systematic research on a selected aspect of a teaching programme (1.3.1, 1.3.2, 2,4,1, 2.4.2, 2.4.3, 3.2); - communicate effectively about children's learning with teaching staff and parents being (1.2.1 1.2.2, 1.3.2; 2.1.4, 2.4.1, 2.4.2, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3); - participate with confidence in a school's professional development activities, its informal curriculum and in the wider life of the school (1.2.1, 1.2.2, 2.1.4, 2.4.1, 2.4.2, 2.4.3, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3).; - analyse the context of a school and draw out implications for teaching and learning (1.1.3, 1.1.4, 1.2.1, 1.2.2, 2.4.1, 2.4.2, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3); - show awareness of the primary/secondary interface (1.2.1, 1.2.2, 2.1.4, 2.4.1, 2.4.2, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3). Assessment Information
At the end of the placement the school should complete a final assessment grading on the A-E scale. In order to pass the placement the student has to receive a pass grade from both the school and the University for each of the six categories on the final assessment profile.
